It’s true! ABoR works to connect homeowners and REALTORS® as a unified voice in the legislative process, speaking up for the place we all call home. These decisions and dedications have a far-reaching impact beyond just homeowners—they impact our entire community and quality of life. Here are a few of the issues ABoR and Central Texas REALTORS® work for:

  • Property Rights Protecting homeownership and the innate rights that come with this achievement are basic tenets of ABoR’s commitment to our 11,000+ REALTOR® members and all Central Texas homeowners. Private property rights are an important symbol of the relationship neighbors share in our society and must be preserved to ensure a stable marketplace and security for all property owners.
  • Smart Growth PoliciesWith affordability and transportation issues hitting Central Texas, ABoR and REALTORS® embrace Smart Growth planning principles to match our region’s booming growth. We work with the community to help educate about the importance of CodeNEXT, find opportunities to incorporate smart growth visions, create a variety of housing options, and encourage transit-oriented development to provide better mobility options and enhance accessibility throughout Austin.
  • TransportationProviding adequate mobility is critical for maintaining a healthy real estate market and is necessary in order to help sustain our city’s growth and prepare for the forecasted increases in population and automobiles using our roadways. ABoR supports a regional approach to improving, sustaining, and expanding mobility in Central Texas in order to relieve traffic congestion now and meet the future needs of a rapidly growing population.
