“Stuff the Bus” This Weekend

The new school year is just around the corner (I’m sure that your kids are thrilled!), so it’s time to restock your children’s backpacks and binders with brand-new school supplies. For a lot of people, this is the time to start fresh and give kids the resources that they need to succeed on a daily basis. However, some are not fortunate enough to purchase these fundamental and important supplies for their children. That’s where you come in.

The annual Stuff the Bus event is back this weekend to serve Austin ISD schools with supplies for children in need, on August 10 and 11 at the Sunset Valley retailers. In a convenient twist, this weekend also happens to be tax-free weekend for all school supplies and clothing under $100. When you’re out and about shopping, whether for your own school supplies or household items, pick up an extra pack of pencils or markers, or maybe a new backpack that you can stuff with other school supplies. Bring the supplies to Sunset Valley this weekend, where you can help “stuff the bus.” All of the donated supplies will be distributed at AISD’s Back to School Bash, where families gather to kick off the new school year.

Central Texas REALTORS® are championing the effort to “stuff the bus” and bring the community together to improve the lives of children in need. Education is a fundamental aspect of building a better Central Texas, and all kids deserve to have the resources to help them succeed.

“Stuffing the bus” makes a direct and considerable impact on the local community, and you have a chance to start of hundreds of children’s school years off the right way. As an added bonus, Stuff the Bus is also offering discounts and prizes to those who make a charitable donation.

AustinHomeSearch.com and the Austin Board of REALTORS® community are proud to support this exciting event. We hope that you can make it out on Saturday, August 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 11 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Take advantage of tax-free weekend and start the school year off right!
